The funeral will take place in Los Angeles, where the screenwriter lived in recent years.

Akopov is known for his scripts for such films as "The Soldier and the Elephant", "Apartment for Rent with a Child", "Grandmother's Grandson", "Sunday Dad", "The Man from Capuchin Boulevard" and "Park of the Soviet Period".

He was also the first president of the Guild of Scriptwriters of the USSR.
