The retired Egyptian artist Sharifa Maher opened fire on her children, while commenting on her son's sudden death, Friday, as her eldest son Magdy died a few months after he participated with his brothers in filing a case against their mother, to get her money while she was alive.

Egyptian media quoted Sharifa Maher as saying: "I am very sad about the death of my son, and what saddens me most is that I did not see him before he died, and I did not attend his washing, and I did not even know that he died until after they buried him."

The retired artist added that her late son, no matter what he does, will remain her son, a piece of her heart, and it is impossible for her to rejoice in his death.

Sharifa Maher, according to "Al Arabiya.net", revealed, during an interview on one of the Egyptian satellite channels, to her differences with her children, saying: "I distributed a large part of my inheritance... Sharif and Tariq cursed me. My trick, and Sharif Qalli, I will take you off your clothes.”

And about her daughter, Nahid, the Mu'tazila artist said: "She is not Hanina and her heart is rigid on me.. From her to God, and her heart is colder than her sisters, and she is not asking about me, and Sharif has a long life who loves money more than his father and mother."

She indicated that she retired from art and wore the veil 45 years ago, and launched many real estate projects.


The 83-year-old Egyptian artist was born in the Helwan region, south of the Egyptian capital, Cairo.

Her original name is "Huda Maher Al-Kafrawi", and the late musician Mohamed Abdel Wahab discovered her singing talent, then the musician Ahmed Sedky composed her first song, entitled "Sibni I think". , and Muhammad Al-Mouji.

Among her most famous songs are "Bahr El Gharam", "Bint Al Mansoura", "Ya Donia Ghani", "Ya Wadi Ya Iskandarani" and "Red Ally Albi".

She worked in theatre, cinema and television, and participated in the films “Balad al-Beloved”, “Asrar al-Nas”, “Galata of a Father”, “I am the daughter of Maine”, “Talmoni al-Habayeb”, “The Written Destiny”, “Have mercy on my tears” and “Ismail Yassin in the Police”. “How can I forget you”, “The Accused and the Magic Lantern”, “I will not confess”, “The Beach of Love”, “My Dearest Lovers”, “The Girl of the Masses”, “Life is Good” and “My Wife’s Dignity”.
