A massive fire broke out in one of the apartments today, located on the fifth floor of a property in Tersa Street in Haram, Giza Governorate.
The Civil Protection Department in Giza sent fire engines, and the property was evacuated from the residents.
The owner of the apartment on the fifth floor jumped out, along with his daughter;
After they were surrounded by fire, which resulted in his death and the injury of his daughter.
Investigations by the Giza Investigations indicated that the fire broke out inside the apartment due to a short circuit in the refrigerator.
An eyewitness revealed the details of the father's death and the injury of his daughter, after they jumped from the window of their fifth-floor apartment, to escape the fire. He said that he and a number of street residents put mattresses for them under the property to jump on;
so that they do not suffer severe injury or death;
trying to save them.
The eyewitness added that the daughter fell on the mattress, but she was injured, and her father jumped, but as a result of the height of the floor in which they live, he was also injured, and they were transferred to Al-Haram Hospital, but the father died of the injuries he sustained, while the condition of the girl was serious.
