Walking into the pavilion, the audience was deeply attracted by a giant lion.

This is one of the four giant lions that shocked China and foreign countries at the opening and closing ceremonies of the 2010 Guangzhou Asian Games, with a diameter of two meters. It was designed and supervised by Zhao Weibin, the representative inheritor of the provincial intangible cultural heritage project of Guangdong Xingshi, and Chen Jinmingzha, the representative inheritor of Guangzhou City. The lion is one of the auspicious beasts in the eyes of the Chinese people, and the lion dance activities often entrust the people's good wishes to eliminate disasters and seek blessings.

In the first section of the exhibition, the audience can understand the historical development of Guangdong Xingshi through the comprehensive means of exhibits, pictures, texts and multimedia.

The Chinese lion dance originated in the Han Dynasty, which is contained in the "Han Book of Rites and Music", and has a history of nearly two thousand years.

After thousands of years of evolution, lion dance has become a unique cultural art of the Chinese nation, and even a symbol of Chinese spirit.

Many viewers wonder why it is called "Wake Lion"?

This exhibition gives the answer, one is from folklore, and the other is related to the Cantonese word for "awakening".

The exhibit "Fu, Lu, Shou and Fine Lions" was innovatively hand-painted by Chen Jinming on the auspicious lion's head, expressing the good wishes of the common people to "have both good fortune and longevity, and the stars shine brightly".
