The tone hardens a little more between Paris and Bamako.

This Thursday, a senior official of the Malian junta called on the French Minister for the Amées, Florence Parly to be silent.

This Friday morning, the French Minister of Foreign Affairs for his part criticized an “

illegitimate

 ” junta, which takes “

 irresponsible measures

 ”.

Response from Abdoulaye Diop, the Malian Minister of Foreign Affairs, in an exclusive RFI / France 24 interview granted to Marc Perelman and Christophe Boisbouvier, he condemns the words of the French official.

These are words borrowed from contempt.

These are words that I condemn that are unacceptable.

And I believe that insults are not proof of greatness.

We are willing to discuss with France or others on substance issues.

These are not irresponsible questions.

What we are trying to do is defend the interests of our country.

Any foreign presence in Mali must comply with Malian rules, must also go in the direction of the higher interests of Mali, especially for the presence of foreign forces.
