An advertisement for the employment of young women “on a strange condition” sparks outrage in Italy

The Italian Ministry of Labor is investigating an investigation into a recruitment advertisement that sparked a wave of controversy and anger.

The job ad also stipulated that applicants must be under 30 years old, have a "sunny demeanor" and "good looks", own a car, and speak fluent English, according to the Italian news website Il Giornale.

"We ask you to send in a full-length photo in a bathing suit or similar," reads the text of the ad, carried by the agency "Sputnik".

Although the company was quick to add the ad after the outcry it sparked, a screenshot of the ad was widely circulated on social media, according to the British newspaper, The Guardian.

Users of social networking sites denounced the advertisement, describing it as expressing anger at the job requirements, and the Italian Ministry of Labor and Social Policies ordered an investigation into the controversial advertisement.

Naples employment consultant Chiara Marciani called the ad "ridiculous" and "inappropriate", and the advertiser defended that the job ad was posted due to an "inexperienced employee error" and admitted that the swimwear requirement was inappropriate.
