A Jordanian lawyer clarifies the penalty for "the claimant of prophecy" .. and reveals a surprise in the Jordanian law!

Jordanian lawyer Sakhr Al-Khasawneh pointed out that the Jordanian law did not mention any punishment for the claimant of prophecy, or even criminalizing what the Lebanese did, Nashaat Majd Al-Nur.

He added, in a statement to the Jordanian "Khabarni" website, that the perpetrator of this act can be punished according to the text of another article of the law, which is Article 278 of the Jordanian Penal Code, which talks about (insulting the religious feelings of others).

Al-Khasawneh pointed out that the penalty for insulting religious feelings, according to the Jordanian Penal Code, is imprisonment for a maximum period of not more than three months.

The Lebanese citizen, Nashat Majd Al-Nour, sparked widespread controversy by claiming to be a prophet through a video clip of him before the judicial complaints against him continued.

In a related development, the police of the Saudi capital, Riyadh, announced the arrest of a person who appeared in a video he posted on “Snapchat” claiming prophethood, and included profanity and immoral expressions, and rammed vehicles on a public road and threatened passersby with a white weapon.

The penalty for his crime, if it is classified as legitimate according to Saudi law, is murder if he does not admit his mistake, after verifying his mental state.
