Shizuoka Prefecture and others announced on the 27th that 1650 new infections with the new coronavirus have been confirmed.
It surpassed 1460 people on the 26th, which was the highest number of confirmed infections in a day, and reached a record high for the third consecutive day.
The prefecture also announced that one elderly patient had been confirmed dead.
On the other hand, the prefecture withdrew one person from the number of positive people, saying that the one person announced on the 26th was the same person as the positive person already announced by Hamamatsu City.
The cumulative number of infected people in Shizuoka Prefecture was 41,143.
