During their defeat in the round of 16 of CAN 2022 (0-0, tab: 5-4), the Ivorians played on Wednesday January 26 in front of a Cameroonian public who were against them and who supported their Egyptian opponent.

With our special correspondent in Douala,

The Ivorians certainly did not need that.

From this controversy which ignited social networks accusing Ivorian supporters of having denigrated Cameroon,

on the reliability of the Covid tests of the teams

of this CAN, and of having supported the Comoros.

It was enough for the public of Japoma, who had taken up the cause of the Elephants against Algeria, to turn their backs on the Ivorians and choose to encourage Mohamed Salah and his family.

The public's attitude did not influence the result, according to goalkeeper Ali Badra Sangaré.

“

Not at all

,” he swears.

Often, we will play matches in stadiums where we have none of our supporters.

It didn't affect us

 ."

He adds for so much: "

But we did not deserve that

".

It was under the boos of the stadium supporters that Maxwell Cornet went to shoot and pass his penalty from the series of shots on goal.

The former Lyonnais claims not to have been affected by the whistles.

“

It's soccer.
