2020年7月9日，李胜21岁的独生女儿李某月离开南京居住的小区后失联。
据李胜说，妻子和女儿每天都要发微信，但从10日开始，无论是微信还是电话，都无法再联系上她。“我们就慌了。”
2020年7月12日，夫妻俩赶到南京，先联系了女儿的男友洪峤，后到女儿此前就读的学校，请班主任和同学帮忙寻找。
次日，洪峤带李胜前往苹果手机店，试图给李某月的手机定位，后不了了之。下午两人又到南京公安局栖霞分局马群派出所报案。
7月17日晚，李胜接到南京警方通知，女儿已于失踪那日晚上到了西双版纳。
“她妈妈知道消息后就崩溃了。”李胜透露，得知消息后，自己和3个朋友一起到云南寻找女儿，后勐海警方向他提供线索，他得知李某月于7月9号晚上9点40分左右到了位于边境的兴海检查站。
2020年8月4日，勐海县公安局发布通报称，7月18日，接到南京市公安局栖霞分局的协查通报：李某月从江苏南京到达云南勐海后去向不明。经缜密侦查，发现李某月的男友洪某(洪峤)等有重大作案嫌疑。8月3日，勐海警方会同南京警方在南京市将洪某（24岁）、张某(21岁)、曹某(20岁)等犯罪嫌疑人抓获，并于当日在勐海县城郊外山林中找到了被掩埋的李某月尸体。

“这次来的只有我、孩子的妈妈和两位亲戚。”李胜说，27日下午3时，自己和妻子、代理律师一起参加了庭前会议，洪峤等4人只有辩护律师参加，并无家属到场。
李胜还透露，自己在会议中提出了两个申请：一是申请庭审直播，二是将刑事附带民事诉讼的赔偿金额从15万降至10万。“我们希望通过这两个申请表明态度，要求洪峤死刑，而不是为了钱或者博眼球。”
此前，李胜曾对媒体表示，自己原本不打算提起刑事附带民事赔偿，但为了获得旁听资格，最终提了15万元赔偿。 (完)
