For SessionLab, Hortense Volle met Indian rapper based in France, Tracy de Sá.

Portrait of a powerful woman, with a rap as militant as it is dancing, with a precise and scathing flow.

A podcast in "pussy power" mode to listen to with headphones (3D audio).

Tracy de Sá was born in the state of Goa, on the southwest coast of India, but grew up in southern Spain, near Malaga.

Entering hip hop through dance, the young lady was less than 20 years old when she wrote her first raps in France, in parallel with her higher studies in linguistics, then gender.

In 2019, Tracy de Sá participated in the semi-final of the

Destination Eurovision

show  with Por Aqui, a title sung in Spanish, English and French, to be found on

Commotion

, a first album that draws on all her influences: reggaeton, r'n'b, latin and indian music.

After Montpellier and Lyon, Tracy de Sá is now based in Sèvres, in the western suburbs of Paris.

It was there, in the studios of Sum Asso, that we found her to speak frankly – as she does powerfully on her 2nd album

In Power

– of the body, of sexuality, of freedom, of feminine pleasure and therefore also of Politics.
