Trial begins for British nurse accused of killing 8 babies and five boys

A British nurse accused of killing eight babies in a neonatal unit has appeared in court at a pre-trial hearing.

The nurse, Lucy Lytby, denied;

The 32-year-old, from Hereford, murdered five boys and three girls at The Countess of Chester Hospital, and denied trying to kill five other boys and five girls.

Lucy appeared on video at Chester Crown Court from a room at HMP Bronzefield in Ashford.

The hearing included pre-trial arrangements at Manchester Crown Court, which is set to begin on 4 October and last six months.

And it was decided to set two more sessions before the trial, in April and June or July.
