A fortune cookie gives an American veterinarian $4 million

A retired Army vet in North Carolina won a $4 million prize by accident, and the man said the win made him "amazed".

The winner, Gabriel Fierro, activated the numbers through a link to participate in the raffle

The winner said: "I don't usually play, but I tried it on a whim, and upon receiving the email in the morning I stared at it in astonishment, took it and showed the letter to my wife thinking it was an April Fool's joke or maybe a scam."

The winner added that he matched the winning ticket with all 5 white balls in the drawing, and received a prize of $4 million.

Regarding the way the prize is spent, Fierro confirmed that most of the prize money will be invested.
