A week after the start of a vast excavation campaign to try to find the body of Delphine Jubillar, the investigators and their reinforcements are still hard at work.

After pruning the trees, the soldiers and gendarmes took out the mechanical shovel on Monday to probe the ground in an area located in Cagnac-les-Mines, in the Tarn, not far from the couple's home, from where the young woman disappeared on the night of December 15 to 16, 2020.

They always focus near the chemin de Drignac, near the burnt farm where Cédric Jubillar allegedly told a fellow prisoner that he had hidden the body of his wife.

While part of a section of this path is being cleared by a mechanical shovel, soldiers are probing the ground with metal detectors in areas delimited by yellow beacons.

A hundred people mobilized

“For the moment, nothing new, it is always the same perimeter and the same means which have been implemented” for a week, explained to AFP a source close to the investigation.

About a hundred people remain mobilized for these excavations, in particular members of the Specialized Operational Search (FOS) unit of the 17th Parachute Engineer Regiment of Montauban and scientific experts from the Criminal Research Institute of the National Gendarmerie (IRCGN).
