The artist Hani Shaker submits a complaint against Al-Shennawi. The latter comments on a "disaster"

Counselor Yasser Kantoush, on behalf of his client, artist Hani Shaker, head of the Syndicate of Musical Professions in Egypt, submitted a complaint to the Attorney General against art critic Tarek El-Shennawy.

Hani Shaker’s lawyer submitted the communication, alleging that El-Shennawy abused the captain, on television programs, and through his press writings, as the text of the communication stated: “On January 18, 2022, the defendant, Tariq Ahmed El-Sayed El-Shinawy, wrote an article in the newspaper, in which he attacked the artist Hani Shaker, After the decisions of the latter (the Captain) regarding festival singers, in which he demanded that festival singers change their names, where the defendant decided that the last scene of art had become random, and that Hani Shaker had become insulting to Egyptian art.

The communication added that Tariq Al-Shennawi said: “The prince of singing, piety and Arab piety has in recent months been issuing random decisions that insult art, and ask singers to change their names, whether real or famous, to names that he deems professional, and this is a condition for their return to singing, the Syndicate Council There is no power or strength, he agrees and stamps with ten on those decisions that contradict reason and logic, praise be to God that Farid al-Atrash did not appear during the era of the prince of singing, otherwise he was asked to change his name to Farid Abdel Samie.” And following these words in the article, many satellite channels hosted The defendant (Al-Shennawi) as a guest in a television interview, and he repeated what he published in his press article about the attack on the artist Hani Shaker.

In the communication submitted by his legal advisor, the artist, Hani Shaker, called for "a petition to investigate this incident and take the necessary legal measures against the defendant, and to hear the videos in which the defendant defamed him, his reputation and his job."

On the other hand, the art critic Tariq Al-Shennawi confirmed that he did not direct any insult and defamation against the artist Hani Shaker, the head of the Syndicate of Musical Professions, in the first comment of the art critic on the communication submitted by the advisor, Yasser Kantoush, on behalf of his client, the artist Hani Shaker, claiming that he insulted him in Television programmes, and through his press writings.

Art critic Tariq El-Shennawy, during his appearance on the et al-Arabi program, commented: "I said my opinion, and if the captain does not have the flexibility to accept the opinions of others, it remains a disaster, he must accept all opinions."

He added: I did not say anything in which there is a need for public insult and slander, I am all that I said, that this is bullying, when someone named (Anba), they say to him other than your name, keep your name, this will remain a joke, and we are funny in front of the world, my sense is that he tells jokes if he speaks seriously And this remains a disaster, as the issue provoked me, and not only did I turn into a trend.”

And critic Tariq Al-Shennawi continued: "I even said if Farid Al-Atrash came to you, you would tell him other than your name, because names are judged by actions, and I expressed my opinion, so okay, between us is the judiciary."

Legal expert Hossam Lotfi, advisor to critic Tariq Al-Shennawi, in his first comment on the crisis, spoke to "Masrawy", and said: "The communication is completely unsuccessful. Artist Hani Shaker, head of the Syndicate of Musical Professions, is a public figure, and the door of criticism is permissible in his right."

It is worth noting that the Egyptian Syndicate of Musical Professions recently agreed to grant festival singers "Ahmed Moza", "Hamo Tikha" and "Mustafa Enaba", the annual permit to sing, after the trio signed an agreement to amend their names to Mustafa Annab and Ahmed Sultan, And Hamou Rajab.
