The captain of the representative professions in Egypt, Ashraf Zaki, submitted a complaint to the Public Prosecutor against a person for insulting a number of artists and the union, through a video clip he posted on YouTube, using words that are considered an insult.

The statement submitted by the legal advisor to the union stated that the defendant had insulted a number of artists and spread false news about them, describing them as indecent and offensive to them and the union.

The communication demanded that the defendant be punished in accordance with the Penal Code, for committing the offenses of insult, slander and insult.

And the Representative Professions Syndicate, headed by Ashraf Zaki, had issued a statement regarding the controversy currently raging, regarding the movie “Ashab wala Aziz.”

And the union said in its statement: “The Representative Professions Syndicate, captain and members, followed closely all the reactions that appeared in the media, social networking sites, and some opinions from political figures (individually or representing their parties), all of which revolved around the artwork. Nor my dearest, which was co-starred by Egyptian actress Mona Zaki, a member of the Syndicate.

The union added that "preserving the freedom of creativity in a civil state that believes in freedom is an essential part of the conscience of Egyptian artists that the union protects and defends."

She highlighted that “the Syndicate will not stand idly by in front of any verbal assault or attempt to intimidate or undermine any Egyptian artist, as a result of an artwork that he contributed to with its author and director, and the Syndicate will support the artist Mona Zaki, if some try to take any action of any kind towards The artist is a member of the Syndicate.

The Syndicate affirmed that it “is keen on the authentic values ​​of the Egyptian society, and stresses that the role of arts and soft powers is to address thorny issues, and to sound the alarm on many phenomena that may infiltrate our society. A message to alert everyone, and this is the role of art in general and the role of acting arts in particular.
