Beginners may not only fall and hurt themselves, but also easily bruise others, causing rear-end collisions on the snow track

How to tighten the "safety net" in ski resorts?

  Our reporter Liu Shanshan

"Does this hurt? What is this? Maybe the radial side of the wrist is injured. I need to fix it with a splint first, and then go to the hospital to take a film to further diagnose whether it is a fracture..." Recently, in the infirmary of Tiandingshan Ski Resort in Changchun City, Jilin Province, Specially-appointed doctor Kong Xiangdong is treating the injury of the little girl whose wrist was injured due to the "rear-end collision" of skiing.

The Beijing Winter Olympics are approaching, and people's enthusiasm for skiing is heating up.

As a high-risk sport, while skiing brings endless fun to fans, it is also prone to various accidental injuries.

In order to protect the personal safety of tourists, it is the top priority of the management of major ski resorts to deal with the injury as soon as possible when an accident occurs.

Snow rescue is a race against time

The infirmary of Tianding Mountain Ski Resort is located next to the ski resort. Through the glass door, rescuers can see the situation on the ski resort at any time.

In the medical room, medicine cabinets, wheelchairs and other equipment are readily available.

On Kong Xiangdong's desk, sphygmomanometers, stethoscopes, etc. are neatly placed. The first aid kit next to him is filled with oxygen cylinders and various cryotrauma medicines.

Equipment such as snowmobiles and ambulance boats used for rescue are parked at the corresponding positions in the snow field.

Ice and snow sports have the characteristics of strong professionalism, high technical requirements and great personal danger. In recent years, personal injury accidents have occurred in ski resorts and skating rinks in various places.

According to information from the China Judgment Documents Network, since 2020, there have been dozens of cases of disputes over the rights to life, health and body between tourists and ski resort operators.

"Beginners are relatively easy to get injured. If you don't hire a professional coach, you don't know the essentials of skiing, you don't have any preparation and warm-up, or you only practice once or twice and go to the intermediate ski slopes. Others cause a rear-end collision." Kong Xiangdong said that the injured are mainly limb joint dislocation, soft tissue strain and fracture, etc., mainly minor injuries, "Most cases can be handled by the infirmary in the snow field, but if the injury If it is serious, the medical staff in the ski resort needs to do emergency treatment and then be sent to the hospital by 120 ambulance for treatment."

In mid-December last year, a 12-year-old boy accidentally fell while skiing. After receiving a call, the rescue team arrived at the scene within 1 minute and 30 seconds, and then transferred him to the infirmary.

Kong Xiangdong's examination found that the boy's arm was dislocated and the entire arm was unconscious, but it was not possible to determine whether it was fractured.

After the infirmary staff fixed the boy's injured arm with a triangle scarf, he was transported to the hospital within 20 minutes for comprehensive treatment.

The hospital diagnosis said that the child was dislocated and compressed the nerve. If it is not handled in time, it is likely to cause serious consequences of arm paralysis.

"The speed of rescue directly affects the outcome of the accident." Li Long, the mountain operation manager of Tiandingshan Ski Resort, told reporters that in order to arrive at the emergency scene as soon as possible, the infirmary was equipped with a general practitioner with 30 years of medical experience, and A rescue team composed of 14 professional ski rescuers, "after receiving the call for help from tourists, the rescuers arrived at the accident site within 2 minutes, and transferred to the infirmary within 5 minutes, which was less than 15 minutes to the injured site. international rescue standards are even faster.”

Fewer tourists are injured, less losses in the ski resort

Li Long, 32 years old this year, has been engaged in ski resort management for 8 years and has worked in 4 ski resorts successively.

He told reporters that the safety management of the ski resort not only needs to "dig" various management details to the extreme, fully anticipate all kinds of safety risks, but also continuously improve and upgrade according to the problems that may arise in the actual operation.

In 2019, the General Administration of Sports of the People's Republic of China jointly issued the "Several Opinions on Further Strengthening the Safety Management of Ice and Snow Sports Venues", proposing that ice and snow sports venues should be equipped with social sports instructors, ambulancemen, patrolmen, and field patrolmen who meet the safety needs as required. and other security personnel.

In addition, complete and eye-catching safety signs, ambulance equipment, safety rules for ice and snow sports, etc. are also essential items on the snow field.

"At the beginning of the construction of the ski resort, more than 10 million yuan was invested in safety, and in the operation in recent years, a special fund of no less than 1 million yuan has to be invested every year. The facilities and equipment will be renovated and upgraded." said Xin Liqiang, general manager of Tiandingshan Ski Resort.

"The snow track safety net was originally a single-layer net, but later the key positions were replaced with a double-layer net according to actual needs; the safety warnings are increasing every year, and it is necessary to ensure that there are no dead ends in the snow track..." Li Long said, in order to better satisfy For the skiing experience of tourists at night, after the end of the day, the snow field should also carry out snow pressing operations in time and maintain the snow track, so that the snow track will become soft again and reduce the probability of injury when tourists fall.

Xin Liqiang said, "The 'fire fighting' is not as fast as the 'fire prevention' in place. In order to ensure the personal safety of tourists, prevention is the first priority in the safety management of the ski resort. Only as far as possible to ensure that tourists are less injured and not injured, the snow resort's safety All losses can be minimized.”

"Snowfield management is more comprehensive and safety is more guaranteed"

However, from the overall management situation of the industry, the biggest problem of ski resorts is the lack of detailed management standards and norms.

Xin Liqiang said that he has been in the ski resort management industry for 23 years and has worked in seven or eight ski resorts. At present, the safety management details of each ski resort mainly depend on personal experience.

"The boss is willing to spend money, and the person in charge of the operation is more thoughtful, and the safety will be more guaranteed. This is also the reason why the safety management level of different ski resorts varies."

"The current management measures put forward basic requirements for the safety measures of the snow field, but in the specific implementation, some safeguard measures may or may not be used. For example, there is no fixed standard for the acceptance of the magic carpet, and the inspection requirements of the relevant departments are also different. The same." Xin Liqiang said.

In the past two years, with the expansion of the ski industry, the industry has been increasingly calling for the formulation of safety management rules of different standards for ski resorts of different scales and characteristics.

The "China Ski Resort Management Regulations" revised in 2017 pays more attention to safety issues. For example, it is clarified that "the grade, average slope, maximum slope and length of the ski slopes and other details should be marked in prominent positions." Our country A number of provinces and cities have also successively issued management regulations for ski resorts, stipulating the provision of medical emergency rooms, ambulance transportation equipment and professional medical personnel.
