Just like in

J'enrage de son absence

, Sandrine Bonnaire will speak, through the prism of fiction, of the story of her mother.

"My mother was separated from her mother when she was 12, and she searched for her for more than 30 years. She found our grandmother in a mental hospital, I was at eight years old. She l kidnapped her to bring her home."

A miraculous reunion that turned into tragedy.

"This woman underwent a small operation, but really benign", continues Sandrine Bonnaire.

"She didn't wake up, she couldn't take the anesthesia. And it was terrible for my mom, because she had just found her. And she was gone forever."

The mixed stories of Sandrine Bonnaire and Isabelle de Hartog

This new film thus feeds on the questions born of this drama: how one grows up when one has not known one's parents, when one does not know where one comes from. "These are questions that interested me and that question me," says Sandrine Bannaire. The director adds that her film also feeds on the story of actress Isabelle de Hartog, whom she met on the set of a film by Claude Lelouch.

“Isabelle de Hartog was born under X and wanted to talk about it. When we met, I was about to tell the story of my grandmother and my mother. of a story that she had co-written with the screenwriter, with whom I finally wrote”, she recalls.

“I told her that I already had my project. And then, finally, it was in a certain way the same story. She is in search of finding her parents, whom she has since found elsewhere, it is incredible. And my character was on a quest to find his mother too. In the end, we really mixed these two stories."
