What is the “brain fog” that Corona patients complain about?

Cases of “brain fog” among patients with the Corona virus are becoming more common, even among people whose symptoms were mild.

Experts were raising question marks about the relationship between brain fog and corona, but new research recently provided some possible answers to why some suffer from difficulty concentrating and thinking clearly after being infected with “Covid-19”.

And “Sky News” quoted the American “CBS42” website, that a team of researchers at the University of California, San Francisco, found that brain fog may result from changes in the cerebrospinal fluid due to Corona.

They explained that the Corona virus, “like other diseases that attack the brain,” is able to make changes to the spinal fluid of an infected person.

And the researchers’ study found that the cerebrospinal fluid of patients, who suffered from brain fog after being infected with corona, witnessed “some abnormalities similar to those that occur in people with Alzheimer’s.”

The authors of the study explained that their findings “are still preliminary, but represent an important step towards understanding what exactly corona can do to the human brain.”
