Morocco.. New developments concerning victims in the case of "sex for points"

The Faculty of Legal and Political Sciences in the Moroccan city of Settat, which was the scene of a scandal that shook the educational entity in Morocco, and was known in the media as the “sex for points” issue, decided to enable two female students who were victims of university harassment to resume their studies, after they were dismissed by a professor in the field of public law.

After a series of interventions following the outbreak of the scandal, the college in Settat decided to open the file of the two students who accused the university professor of exposing them to expulsion and dismissal as a result of their failure to comply with him.

According to the online newspaper, Hespress, the two students will retake the exams in their catch-up phase during this fall session, after they had been dismissed for allegedly cheating in the exam by the accused professor.

The Deanship of the College of Settat found itself in an embarrassing situation, because the two students accused the professor of dismissing them without being heard in a disciplinary council, as stipulated by law.

One of the two students spoke to "Hespress" about the details of her being pressured to force her to commit immoral acts.

According to her version of the newspaper, the harassment process started when the exam was taken, as she found herself in a confrontation with her teacher, who accused her of cheating and took her and a colleague out of the hall, after withdrawing the exam paper and student card from them, claiming that they did not continue studying in his class.

According to the same student, the professor's step was just a thread to drag her towards him, as he asked her to come to his office, and while she was with him, he started flirting with her and harassing her.

It is known that the two students mentioned are following up on the accused professor before the Court of First Instance in Settat, which is looking into the file, where 3 other professors are following up with him in what has become known as the “sex-for-points” file.
