On January 20, local time, the Liberian police confirmed that a stampede occurred in the suburban town of Monrovia, the capital of Liberia, on the evening of January 19, killing at least 29 people and injuring many others.
A group of thugs armed with machetes broke into a religious event held in the town of New Crewe on the outskirts of Monrovia, attacking the people present, causing chaos on the scene and leading to a stampede. So far, 29 people have been killed and many others injured.
Police have apprehended a suspect suspected of being involved in the attack.
