A harassment video is causing a stir in Egypt... and the police are interfering
A video showing a young man verbally harassing and beating a girl caused a sensation in Egypt, which called for urgent police intervention.
The video showed the accused young man with a friend of his on one of the corners, and when the girl passed in front of them, he verbally harassed her, which the girl refused, reprimanding him, and he only beat her in front of everyone, before the residents of the area intervened.
According to the Egyptian newspaper, "Al-Masry Al-Youm", the 120-second video was taken in the village of Al-Ikhsas in the classroom in Giza, noting that it spread widely, which hastened the police intervention.
The police forces’ move came after activists on the social networking site “Facebook” circulated a video clip in which a person wearing a white shawl appeared to oppose a girl and beat him in the village of Al-Ikhasas in the Al-Saf Police Station Department.
It turned out that the girl was called Iman, 19 years old, and when asked, she accused a person named Ahmed Abu Shadia of assaulting her after he molested her.
The author added that she responded with insults, so he beat her and assaulted her in the middle of the street in front of the villagers.
