The last two Euromillions jackpots of 2021 were won in Hauts-de-France.
The first, of 79 million, goes to a forty-year-old from the North
The December 31 jackpot of 17 million was won by a thirty-year-old from Pas-de-Calais.
They started the year pretty well.
Two inhabitants of Hauts-de-France have seen their respective bank accounts topped with a nice jackpot to consider 2022 and the decades to come under the best auspices.
They are the ones who have indeed won the last two EuroMillions jackpots put into play in 2021, announced the FDJ.
Last December, luck first knocked on the door of a forty-something from the North.
We do not know much about him, the latter having wished to remain anonymous.
However, according to the FDJ, this new millionaire had only registered to play on the Internet a year and a half before hitting the jackpot.
Since then, he played regularly, either fetish numbers or flashes.
He believes he won €79,000 before realizing
And then the December 28 draw arrived.
By checking the results on his phone the next day, the lucky guy initially thought he had pocketed €79,000.
Already very happy with his fate, the northerner then realized that he had forgotten to take into account three zeros.
Which gives 79 million!
When he cashed the checks, the winner told the FDJ that he wanted to continue working.
It is not known what job he holds, but he may now go to work with a lighter heart.
He will also travel a little in France, take care of his house and his family, and try not to change too much.
He asks his mother to hide his winning ticket
Three days later, a resident of Pas-de-Calais broke the bank.
Thanks to his ticket, validated at Saint-Laurent-Blangy, this 30-year-old won 17.5 million euros.
He is all the luckier because the game is far from being a habit for him.
Besides, if there hadn't been a parking space right in front of the FDJ retailer, the new millionaire wouldn't even have made a EuroMillions grid that day.
And since the man played random numbers, he didn't even realize he had won when he looked at the draw.
After realizing, it was to his mother that he entrusted the heavy task of keeping his ticket before pocketing the money.
With part of all his millions, the 30-something intends to buy a house, a car and take the pill on paradise islands.
