.

Luc Albouy, the author of the letter whose mission is "to monitor and enhance the heritage", specifies that his decision does not relate to "a minor question" and that it concerns a "recent building [it dates of 1989] carrying a certain interest”.

He then explains that by giving "a favorable opinion on the demolition", he sees a continuity of this "dynamic of rediscovery of the architectural, urban and landscape roots which make Nice a resort town of the Riviera" and thus, to continue these projects. which allowed the municipality to be listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

The theater, a “collateral victim” of “bad urban issues”

And she's not the only one.

Since Christian Estrosi's announcement to raze the theater to extend the green belt, opponents of the project have taken a number of positions to prevent it, whether environmentalists, elected officials from the National Rally or even LR deputy Eric Ciotti. and Patrick Allemand (ex-elected PS).

For its part, the town hall has assured that the destruction of the theater will start in the spring and the development work is planned until May 2025.
