Does the eye reveal the approaching of death? .. These are the details of a study that claims this

Researchers have found a new way to determine the odds that a person will experience an early death, by examining his eye.

Through this method, Chinese and Australian scientists were able to predict early death about a decade before it occurred, and before any clear signs of ill health appeared.

And the agency “Sputnik” quoted the study’s authors as saying that the retina is a tissue located at the back of the eye, which can provide clues about a person’s health, as damage to the nerves and blood vessels in the retina is considered an early warning sign of the disease.

It is noteworthy that factors such as high blood pressure, diabetes, smoking and poor diet are known to cause a number of eye disorders such as macular degeneration, and according to the new study, if signs of aging appear on the retina faster than they appear on the body, this may predict early death.

Scientists called this theory the “retinal age gap”, after they tested the theory on thousands of Britons, and it was found that those with the largest age gaps in the retina of 10 years were more likely to die prematurely by up to 67% during the study period that extended to 11 years old.

The researchers published the results of their study in the British Journal of Ophthalmology, during which they explained: "These findings suggest that retinal age may be a clinically important biomarker of aging."

These findings have made scientists consider the retina to be a window through which it is easier to spot pathological conditions underlying vascular and nervous system diseases associated with an increased risk of death.
