This front page is expected every year: in December, the prestigious American magazine

Time

designates its “person of the year”.

Presidents, activists or business leaders have received this distinction since the launch of this special issue in 1927.

Didier Raoult, however, is not one of these personalities distinguished by the magazine, contrary to what suggests a false front page circulating on Facebook and Twitter.

website to realize that the Marseille professor has never received this distinction.

The American magazine named Elon Musk, the founder of Tesla and SpaceX, person of the year in 2021. In 2020, it was Joe Biden and Kamala Harris, newly elected president and vice-president of the United States, who had got this one.

Famous throughout the world, this distinction is regularly the subject of misappropriation: false headlines have thus circulated about Chinese President Xi Jinping, or even Marielle Franco, a murdered Brazilian activist.
