During the press screening, which was held at Filmhuset in Stockholm, 20 new films were presented which will premiere in the spring of 2022.

- It is a very exciting starting field.

It's very queer.

And then there are also many films that are about being seen, being seen on their own terms, said the presenter Pekka Heino.

One of the most notable films in advance is the post-apocalyptic Netflix drama Black Crab, starring Noomi Rapace and David Dencik, among others.

The film takes place in the future, in a world destroyed by war and climate change.

Among this spring's films is also the documentary Prejudice and Pride - a queer film history by Eva Beling, which is about Swedish film history seen from a queer perspective.

ADHD, queer and youth love

Several children's and youth films were included during the press screening, including Aja Baja, Alfons Åberg directed by Tomas Alfredsson, as well as the film adaptation of Pia Lindenbaum's book Lill-Zlatan och mobror raring with the actor Simon J Berger in one of the main roles.

The teenage film So Fucking Easy Going, based on a novel by Jenny Jägerfeld, deals with themes such as ADHD, queer and youth love.

Director Christoffer Sandler, told that he is weak for good love stories, which was the reason why he wanted to film Jägerfeld's novel.

- We hope that the audience leaves the salon with a warm feeling in the body, said Christoffer Sandler.

Vasaloppet and Sami identity

Among this spring's premieres is also Mårten Klingberg's comedy From the tracks of a sibling couple (Fredriik Hallgren and Katia Winter), who will ride the Vasaloppet.

- The Vasaloppet has a tradition and history that makes it completely world-unique, said director Mårten Klingberg, who also said that some of the scenes were recorded in the middle of the real Vasaloppet.

The film History - stitches for Sapmi, is about the Sami artist Britta Marakatt-Labba, whose art describes the Sami culture and reindeer husbandry, which is threatened by the climate crisis.
