"Heba" hits Lebanon and terrifies its residents

The Lebanese Meteorological Authority issued a stern warning of the country's exposure to a snow storm called "Heba", which began today, Tuesday. per hour.

In a related context, she explained to the Lebanese Meteorological Authority that today's weather will be partly cloudy, with a slight rise in temperatures, to gradually turn from evening to partly cloudy and cloudy with the intensification of wind speed, which reaches a speed of up to 100 kilometers per hour in the northern regions during the night. Note that heavy rain will start from dawn on Wednesday, accompanied by thunderstorms, in addition to snow falling at a height of 1300 meters, warning of falling billboards and a sea wave that reaches about 5 meters. Storms according to their severity in order to differentiate them.

It was remarkable that the expected storm was called “Heba”, if the followers wondered about the reason for the name. In the context, the head of the Meteorological Department in Lebanon, Mark Wahebi, explained that “a few years ago, it was adopted to name any storm, and with the aim of regulating matters, the meteorology took upon itself.” Storms are given a name in the event that the circumstances call for a name in terms of the strength of the storm and its impact on the movement of people.

He pointed out that "from that time on, the storms became called names, pointing out that" Heba's name is a local name that was adopted in Lebanon only.

In addition, Wahebi described that "Heba" is the first storm and may be the most violent during the current year, noting that it carries with it heavy rain, snow at low altitudes that touch 600 meters, and strong winds that touch 100 km / h and continue until Thursday noon, when they gradually recede and dissolve. A wave of frost and ice forms in the mountainous and inland areas (the average temperature on the coast for the month of January is between 11 and 19 degrees Celsius).

He warned citizens of the wind speed and its danger, recommending not to park or park cars next to advertising banners, and with the phenomenon of solar panels, he called for the necessity of enabling the panels to avoid flying.

Likewise, for seafarers, they must be aware of the waves’ height, as well as the boats and small vehicles by adopting the necessary measures to avoid their sinking.
