After 5 am on the 16th, Mr. Hamaoka's family reported to the fire department that "the fire is coming out from the 2nd floor" at the house of Mr. Toshio Hamaoka (85), who stayed in Tomarihama, Yurihama.
Nine fire trucks extinguished the fire, and the fire was extinguished about an hour later, but one house that doubled as a butcher shop was half-burned.
