Two other women have filed a complaint in the case of sexual assault on New Year's Eve in Milan.

One woman comes from Genoa in northern Italy, the other from Vicenza near Venice, the Milan newspaper Corriere della Sera wrote on Saturday.

The information was confirmed by the German Press Agency from police circles.

In the case, investigators have already arrested two young men suspected of crime, one in Milan and one in Turin.

The number of affected women who filed a complaint rose to eleven.

The case attracted a great deal of attention throughout Italy and beyond.

In Germany, he brought back memories of New Year's Eve 2015/16 in Cologne, when numerous women were harassed in the area of ​​the main station and cathedral.

In the Milan case, two young women from Mannheim are also affected.

According to their own statements, the police in Germany questioned the two students on Tuesday and wanted to pass the information on to their Italian colleagues.

In Milan, investigators assume there have been several incidents of sexual assault by young men in the area of ​​the central square in front of the cathedral, a popular meeting place for large events.

Some alleged victims described in the media, among other things, that they had been groped and harassed.

The officials identified 18 suspects with the help of witness statements, video recordings and subsequent house searches.

According to police, some of them are Italians of North African descent.

Three of them are still minors.

According to “Corriere della Sera”, the two arrested persons remain in custody on the orders of the investigating judges, also because of the risk of absconding.
