The arrest of a Lebanese woman who stole 160 million pounds from her friend's house

The Lebanese security forces arrested a Lebanese citizen who stole 160 million pounds (about 107 thousand dollars according to the official exchange rate of 1,500 pounds to the dollar) from her friend's house.

According to a statement by the General Directorate of the Internal Security Forces, a Lebanese citizen claimed against an unknown person the crime of stealing 100 million Lebanese pounds and 2000 US dollars from his home in the southern town of Beit Lif.

During the field inspection, it was found that the thief had entered with a borrowed key and had stolen after taking off the safe.

As a result of the investigations, the perpetrator was identified and arrested, and she is a friend of the plaintiff’s sister, who has a history of theft, and she was previously arrested for the same crime.

 By interrogating her, she confessed to the theft, taking advantage of the absence of the owners of the house, so she entered it with a key, which she had previously obtained without the knowledge of the owners.

And she spent the bulk of the stolen amount on her own needs, and gave a portion to her family. 

An amount of approximately 13 million Syrian pounds was seized from her possession, and it was returned to the prosecutor, and the arrested woman was deposited in the competent judiciary, according to the "Russia Today" website.
