When it comes to naming the worst moment of his career, Ben Affleck doesn't have to think twice.

Even if the filming of

Justice League

is a distant memory, the actor would give a lot to forget this chaotic period of his life during which he wore the Batman costume.

“It was a bad experience because there was a convergence [of issues]: my own life, my divorce, being away too often, my overloaded schedule and the personal tragedy of Zack [Snyder] and filming [additional scenes].

It was the worst experience possible.

It was horrible,” he told the

Los Angeles Times

.

A Way of the Cross

Indeed, the filming of

Justice League

appears to be one of the great cinematographic puzzles of recent years.

Faced with the death of his daughter in May 2017, Zack Snyder had no choice but to abandon the making of the film then in the post-production phase.

Warner then chose Josh Whedon to take over, instructing him to take over the entire editing, but also to shoot new scenes in order to review Zack Snyder's copy.

And if the release of the film could have been maintained at the end of 2017, the reception from the public was more than mixed.

Later, the studios agreed to fund a very expensive recut by Zack Snyder and this new, four-hour-long version was released for streaming in 2021.

In the end, this experience acted as a realization for Ben Affleck.

"That was the moment when I said to myself, 'I'm going to stop doing this.

It's not even the fact that

Justice League

is so bad.

But it could have been something”, concluded the actor who, originally, was to direct

The Batman

while reprising his role there.

But even if Robert Pattinson has since recovered the Batmobile, Ben Affleck was kind enough to put on the vigilante costume one last time to appear in

The Flash

, which is scheduled for release at the end of the year.
