An Egyptian man burns his father for refusing to buy him a new phone

A young man in the city of Mansoura in the Egyptian governorate of Dakahlia set his father on fire and threw a Molotov cocktail at him, causing him burns for refusing to buy him a new phone.

The Dakahlia security had received a notification that a young man threw a Molotov cocktail at his father in their house located in Abdo Maarouf Street, the department of the department, and the father sustained multiple burns and was taken to the hospital, according to (Sada Al-Balad).

By moving the detectives to the scene of the incident, Attia was injured.

S., 64, received second and third degree burns to the face and body, and accused his son Ibrahim, 20, of throwing a Molotov cocktail at him in his apartment because he refused to buy him a new phone.

In the police report, the father said: “My son works on my angel’s taxi and takes his wages with a mobile phone, and I was surprised that he was asking me to buy a new mobile for him or give him an amount of 6000 pounds (380 US dollars) to buy the mobile, so I refused and told him their monsters and buy what you want.”

He added, "My son threatened me that he was mad at me, but I did not believe him, and today he came back from the outside and knocked on the apartment door. When I opened to him, he threw a burning Molotov cocktail and fled, so my clothes and body caught fire, and the neighbors managed to save me and take me to the hospital."

By codifying the procedures, the detectives were able to arrest the son, and by confronting him, he confessed to committing the incident on the pretext of his anger at his father for refusing to buy him a new mobile like his peers. The necessary record of the incident was released and referred to the Public Prosecution to initiate investigations.
