The doctor who performed the first operation to transplant a pig's heart into a human body, Dr. Muhammad Mohieldin, said that he was "very excited because the operation went very well, exceeding expectations."

According to the "Al-Hurra" website, the doctor of Pakistani origin and studied at the University of Karachi in Pakistan added: "We did not see any sign of rejection of this organ," explaining: "We have modified ten genes in this organ."

And Mohieldin continued in his video: "Three genes that could have led to immediate immune rejection were turned off, and six human genes were added to prevent blood from clotting in the heart, improve molecular compatibility and reduce the risk of rejection."

He noted that one gene was turned off to prevent the pig itself from growing too large.

Mohieldin concluded: "This operation changed the rules of the game and gave hope to tens of thousands of people."

It is noteworthy that the operation was highly successful and took place at the University of Maryland Medical Center in the United States, making Dave Bennett, 57, the first person in the world to live with a pig's heart.
