In addition, one of the previously announced infected individuals has announced that they have been confirmed to be infected with a new mutant virus, the Omicron strain.

Nine men and women in their teens to 50s in Kochi City and Kami City were newly confirmed on the 10th, and all have mild symptoms.



Of these, a female office worker in her 20s in Kochi City and a male employee in her 20s in Shimanto City, whose infection was announced on the 9th, are both suspected of having Omicron strains.



On the other hand, as a result of conducting genome analysis on a man in his 60s in Kochi City, whose infection was announced on the 7th of this month, infection with a new mutant virus, Omicron strain, was confirmed.



Since men have not moved overseas or outside the prefecture and the infection route is not clear, the prefecture is said to be infected in the city.



This is the first case of community-acquired Omicron strain in Kochi prefecture.



As a result, 4207 people were confirmed to be infected in Kochi prefecture, and 3 people were confirmed to be infected with the Omicron strain.



In addition to the 9 people on the 10th, a male police officer in his 20s working at the Kochi police station in Kochi city was confirmed to be infected with the new coronavirus, so the police station was inside the station on the 10th. Is disinfected and does not affect the operation of business.



Kochi Prefecture is calling for more efforts than ever to prevent infections such as avoiding three sickness, wearing masks, and washing hands.
