Jordan opens the tourist panorama of Karak Castle

The Jordanian authorities inaugurated the "Panorama of Karak Castle Sound and Light" tourism project with the aim of promoting tourism to the city locally and abroad.

Today, Saturday, the Jordan News Agency (Petra) quoted a member of the Senate, Jamal Al-Sarayrah, as saying during his patronage of the opening ceremony, which was held yesterday, Friday: "This project is one of the vital and important tourism projects to promote the city's tourism and culture and activate the tourism movement in the region."

He pointed out that "the collective youth initiatives come as an embodiment of the directives of King Abdullah II to support these initiatives with productive and effective work that provides job opportunities and contributes to reducing the phenomenon of unemployment and poverty."

For his part, a member of the Emaar Karak Foundation, Hussein Al-Tarawneh, confirmed that "the Panorama project is one of the early achievements of the Emaar Karak Foundation, which contributes to promoting the historical city with all its tourist, archaeological, cultural and heritage components, considering the city of Karak an open and comprehensive museum."

He added that choosing this strategic location "on the hill opposite the Moabitess Castle of Karak, came to express the vision of the city of Karak with its aesthetics and components that express its honorable history through the ages."

The project supervisor, Moaz Al-Asasfeh, explained that the Panorama Tourism Project was carried out by the efforts of a group of young people from the city, pointing out that one of the project’s objectives is to put the city of Karak on the map of tourist cities in Jordan.

He added that the project provides the tourist with direct viewing of the Karak Castle and its old city through the sound and light program that "tells the story of Karak through the ages," pointing to the availability of parking lots, restaurants, shops, shaded areas, green spaces and a control tower.
