At least 16 Egyptians were killed and 18 others were injured in a collision that occurred at dawn on Saturday in South Sinai between a passenger bus heading from Cairo to the resort of Sharm el-Sheikh (on the Red Sea) and another minibus, due to thick fog and the high speed of drivers.

The Egyptian Ministry of Health announced that the initial outcome of the traffic collision that occurred this morning on the "Suez-Tor Sinai" road amounted to 16 deaths and 18 injuries.

Ministry spokesman, Hossam Abdel Ghaffar, said that as soon as the accident was reported, the ambulance service dispatched 13 ambulances, and all the injured were transferred to Al-Zahraa Medical Center in Tor Sinai, to Abu Dhabi Central Hospital, and Sharm El-Sheikh International Hospital, while the bodies of the victims were transferred to Al-Tur Hospital. general.

He explained that the injuries ranged from fractures, abrasions, cut wounds, and suspected concussion.

The Minister of Higher Education, acting as the Minister of Health, directed the announcement of a medical emergency in the hospitals in the governorates of Suez and South Sinai, and the summoning of all medical teams working in emergency departments.
