Kochi Prefecture announced on the 7th that a man in his 60s in Kochi City is suspected of being infected with a new mutant virus, Omicron strain, of the new coronavirus.
Since men do not move overseas or outside the prefecture, the infection route is not clearly known, and Kochi Prefecture states that "community-acquired infection of Omicron strains is suspected in the prefecture."
This is the first case of suspected community-acquired Omicron strain in Kochi prefecture.
