Egyptian actress Ilham Shaheen responded to a wave of criticism she was subjected to after appearing in a video in which she prayed without a veil at the funeral of the late artist Maha Abu Auf.

Elham said on the program "Kalam al-Nas" that the veil fell on my shoulder, slipped and did not pay attention, and after I realized I lifted it and completed the prayer.
