The ban on smelt fishing has been lifted at Lake Abashiri in Hokkaido, and it is crowded with families.

The ban on smelt fishing has been lifted from the 5th because the temperature of Lake Abashiri has been low since the end of the year and the ice is about 20 cm thicker than the standard.

On the morning of the 6th, a lot of people, including families, visited while it was snowing.

In the tent, a thread was hung in a hole drilled, and smelts were caught one after another, and some children caught two of them together, and they were seen to be praised by their father.

A man who visited with his family from Ozora-cho said, "I eat fried smelt that I caught."

Mr. Kishi Sorato, who manages smelt fishing, said, "This is a little small, but I can catch it quite well. Please enjoy smelt fishing."

According to the Abashiri City Tourism Association, there is a stable number of customers as an outdoor activity in Corona, and last year more than 15,600 people visited.

Smelt fishing on Lake Abashiri is scheduled to take place until March 21st.
