According to information from

La Marseillaise

, published in its January 5 edition, the two heavy old bronze vases which usually adorn the northern esplanade of Château Borély, in the heart of the famous park of the same name in Marseille, were stolen.

The facts occurred on the night of December 20-21.

A complaint has been filed by the city of Marseille.

The central office for the fight against the trafficking of cultural goods was seized, and the regional conservation of historic monuments advised.

It is not known how these two sculptures, each weighing a hundred kilos, could have been stolen in this way.
