The Sheikhs competitions will start today within the Fazza Championship for Falconry, the main "Telwah", organized by the Hamdan Bin Mohammed Heritage Center, in the Al Ruwayyah area in Dubai.

The anticipation will be great, as usual, for the Sheikhs’ races, in which the strongest teams compete in the arena of this ancient heritage sport, as the most prominent of them confirmed the participation, foremost of which are the teams: Al Dhafra, F3, Baynouna, Al Naif and others.

On the first day (Thursday), the Jeer Shaheen runs will be held, followed by the Gear Taba races on Friday, and next Saturday, the Pure Gear races, and next Sunday, the Qarmousha runs.

Yesterday, the championship completed the general open runs, which had been postponed due to weather conditions, after the organizing committee decided to take this step for 48 hours, in order to preserve all participants, birds and workers in the tournament.

The Chairman of the Organizing Committee of the Fazza Championship for Falconry, Demithan bin Suwaidan, said that Al-Rawiya Square is one of the best fields for falconry races in the Gulf region, as it has a distinct ground that can be changed according to weather and wind speed variables, noting that this field in particular has become an ideal destination frequented by the majority of people. Falconers to test the performance of the racing birds before buying them, or to test their abilities in the airspace or keep pace with the wind speed to achieve record time in the competitions, in addition to the fact that the place has been ideally configured and leveled to give clear dimensions of vision, and the racing field in the field is subject to change and movement from one place to another. According to the meteorological movement indicators, where its specialized crew is present in the smart control room to measure the air speed and determine the appropriate place for the race and the time for the change in light of it.
