At 15:02 on January 2, a magnitude 5.5 earthquake occurred in Yongning Town, Ninglang County, Lijiang City, Yunnan Province, with a focal depth of 10 kilometers.
According to statistics, the earthquake caused 26,797 people in 6,455 households in 207 village committees in 4 townships and 17 village committees in Ninglang County, and 8117 houses were damaged. It also affected Yulong County, resulting in 7 village committees in 2 townships.31 1,946 people in a villager group were affected by the disaster; it caused a direct economic loss of 1.23 billion yuan.

After confirming that the earthquake occurred in Ninglang, Eastern Airlines immediately activated the emergency rescue response mechanism and entered the state of emergency flight at any time, requiring relevant departments to be prepared.
