The baby chasing a dollar bill has grown up.

Spencer Elden is today 30 years old and seems to have a complicated relationship with the world-famous image.

In August, he sued Nirvana singer Kurt Cobain's estate for "suffering lifelong damage" to the photo.

Spencer Elden argued that his parents had never given any written permission for it to be used, claiming that the band had violated federal statutes against child pornography.

The fire demanded compensation and a ban on continued sales of the record.

Missed deadline

But now it does not look like there will be a court case, reports the BBC.

Nirvana's lawyers, representing band members Dave Grohl and Krist Novoselic, Kurt Cobain's widow Courtney Love and photographer Kirk Weddle, have spent the autumn responding to the lawsuit.

Spencer Elden was expected to respond to Nirvana's submission - but no response has been submitted.

The deadline expired on December 30, and therefore the court in California has chosen to close the case.

At the same time, however, a gap of ten days is opened for Spencer Elden to send in his answer.

Nirvana: Frivolous accusations

The Nirvana camp believes that Spencer Elden's accusations of child pornography are unserious and shows that the 30-year-old has previously used the cover to market himself.

"He has recreated the photograph for a fee, he has the album title tattooed across his chest, he has participated in a talk show wearing a 'nude shirt', he has sold his autograph on the album cover on eBay and he has used the clutch to try to pick up on women," he writes. the lawyers in a submission to the court.

It is also claimed that the deadline for a possible child pornography offense expired in 2011.
