A preliminary investigation for "attempted assassinations in connection with a terrorist enterprise" was opened, Tuesday, January 4, by the national anti-terrorism prosecution, after "the explosion which hit the vehicle occupied by a crew of five French", on the automobile race which is currently taking place in Saudi Arabia.
The investigations into this explosion on December 30 in Jeddah, which "seriously injured the driver of the car", are entrusted to the Directorate of Internal Security (DGSI), said the Pnat in a statement.
The US Orléans football club, of which Philippe Boutron is president, said the explosion hit an assistance vehicle before the start of the event on January 1.
