On January 2, 2022, a magnitude 5.5 earthquake occurred in Ninglang County, Lijiang City, Yunnan Province (27.79 degrees north latitude, 100.65 degrees east longitude) with a focal depth of 10 kilometers.
After the earthquake, 37 members of the Ninglang Squadron, Lijiang Branch of the Yunnan Forest Fire Fighting Corps arrived at the worst-hit Wado Village, Yongning Township, Ninglang County, for investigation and rescue.
Wadu Village is divided into Shangwadu Village, Zhongwadu Village, and Xiawadu Village. The villagers are mostly Yi nationality. The Yi nationality firefighters of Ninglang Squadron use Yi language to communicate with villagers who can’t speak Mandarin to understand the disaster situation and comfort their emotions. .
At present, rescuers have investigated Zhongwadu Village.
