It's raining fish in Texas

Residents of the American city of Texarkana did not pay much attention to the storm that hit them, but they noticed something strange after it passed.

After a period of rain, residents of Texarkana, Texas, began noticing something strange, the loud sound of rain falling.

As residents went outside, they began to notice something strange, which is fish falling from the sky, on homes and streets, according to the newspaper, "The Independent".

Tom Brigham, manager of an auto shop in the city, confirmed the phenomenon, saying he saw fish falling from the sky during a thunderstorm on Wednesday.

"It was raining and it looked like there was going to be a hurricane," Brigham said. "Then we noticed the fish were falling."

Brigham noticed as many as 25 to 30 fish, six to seven inches long, scattered on the ground outside his shop, and there were more on the property next door.

According to "Sky News Arabia", the residents noticed that the fish "opened their heads", indicating that they fell from a high place, and Brigham indicated that they hit the concrete when they fell.

There was a similar scene across the street at a soccer field, where players noticed fish lying near the sidelines.

Residents were puzzled, and some initially wondered if it was a joke.

Others reported hearing about incidents in which fish and frogs were swept away in hurricane winds and then fell from the sky.

While 'animal rain' is uncommon, it does happen - although it hasn't been officially recorded by scientists.

"The wind picks them up and takes them down like any debris," National Weather Service meteorologist Gary Chatelian told the newspaper. "They could have been picked up somewhere like Lake Texoma. They could come from anywhere."
