An illegal rave party, which began on Friday evening, still gathered some 1,500 people on Saturday at an industrial site in Saint-Florentin in Yonne, said the department prefecture.
“A large gendarmerie system is in place to secure the area around the site and the traffic routes.
A security perimeter has been installed and alcohol and narcotics checks are underway, ”she said in a statement.
The operation is supported by the deployment of a helicopter and local diversions have been set up near the site of the demonstration.

The prosecutor of the Republic of Auxerre opened an investigation "for unlawful organization of a festive gathering of a musical nature", concluded the prefecture.
