Recently, the “Promoting the Spirit of the Great Wall, Inheriting Patriotic Feelings” network theme activity entered Gubeikou Town, visited the Sino-Soviet Joint Headquarters, the surrender site of the Japanese invaders and other sites, and felt the profound historical culture and spiritual value of the Great Wall of Gubeikou.

As a world cultural heritage, the Great Wall is a representative symbol of the Chinese nation and an important symbol of Chinese civilization.

Gubeikou Town, Miyun District, Beijing, located at the foot of the Great Wall, is known as "Yenjing Gateway" and "Jingshi Lock Key". It is an important channel connecting Northeast and North China. The town has Simatai, Wulituo, Panlong Mountain, Crouching Tiger Mountain and the fifth section of the Great Wall of the Northern Qi Dynasty have been contested by military strategists since ancient times.

In 1933, the Gubeikou Great Wall became the main battlefield of the Great Wall War. The Chinese and Japanese troops fought stubbornly and bloody battles here. The first shot in Beijing against the Japanese invaders was fired. The patriotic soldiers used their lives to build the "Great Wall of Flesh."

Gubeikou is currently the only memorial place in Beijing where the people's armed forces accepted the Japanese surrender.
