Osaka Prefecture has announced that 17 people living in the prefecture have been newly confirmed to be infected with the "Omicron strain".

Infection with the new mutant virus "Omicron strain" of the new corona was confirmed in 17 men and women under the age of 10 to 70s living in Osaka Prefecture.

Of these, 15 are said to be "infectious in the city" because they have no history of traveling abroad.



On the other hand, men in their 50s and girls of preschoolers each have a history of traveling abroad.



According to the prefecture, so far all have been mild or asymptomatic and no one has been severely ill.

A total of 61 people were confirmed to be infected with the Omicron strain in a survey conducted by Osaka Prefecture.
